Review: Pineapple Smash Crew (PC)

Indie titles are generally innovative and original in both name and gameplay. I have tested quite a few indie titles in my time; some were really good and others, like Dead Block, really bad. Pineapple Smash Crew (PSC) definitely falls into the former category.

PSC was created single handedly by a designer named Rich Edwards with only the help of chiptune artist, Syphus….

Review: Dead Block (PC)

You know the drill. Get out your axes, guns and guitars, and make sure you have enough drinks with you, because it’s another game that carries the word “dead” in its title. Yes, another zombie game. At least you know what you are getting into as soon as you read the title….

Review: Star Wars The Old Republic (PC)

When Star Wars: The Old Republic was announced as an MMO, I honestly couldn’t say I was at all enthusiastic about it. I remember playing Knights of the Old Republic a few years back and it was an amazing game; the second installment, unfortunately, was terrible. So when I glanced at the first screenshots of the new MMO I was predictably unimpressed; fortunately they have since changed the art design and the current one is very good….

Review: Skyrim (PC)

Skyrim Logo

It’s difficult to review a game which grabs your attention so thoroughly that you spend two weeks playing it obsessively every waking hour whilst justifying it to friends and family as ‘reviewing.’
No one believes you.
The upside of doing this is that after many, many hours you finally reach a saturation point and you know the game very, very well….

Review: Battlefield 3 (PC)

Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 is a game that needs no introduction to the masses of fans out there; its sprawling epic maps and impressive new game engine draw more converts by the day. Yet there are still many people sat on the fence; looking at the game and the problems surrounding it at launch and wondering if it is worth their hard earned cash….

Review: Dead Island (PC)

Dead Island

A big sorry to the readers for the lateness of this review, the week of its release I was in Moscow launching my new novel and once I had a chance to play the game I decided to give it a week to see if the developers fixed some of the bugs.

Review : Terraria (PC)

Arriving back off the plane from Japan after 2 years languishing with only consoles and otakus for company, I bought a new computer in order to get back on the PC steed and gallop into the sunset. Terraria from Re-Logic dropped into my lap.

Maybe you remember as fondly as I do the little touches of our gaming past: the cute synth music of the 1990s Maxis game, that little sound bite “reticulating splines!”, or the real lack of any kind of…well…instructions on how to play….
