Telltale Games, having rocked the world with Monkey Island games and other adventure titles had an event last night in San Francisco to announce some new titles. Dead Island, unlike RAGE, is a game I heard about for the first time this very day. Similar to RAGE, though, Dead Island also got a brand new trailer today. And in the vein of past TV spots for games like Gears of War and Lost Odyssey, the Dead Island video juxtaposes a haunting song over a contrasting scene….

RAGE is a game that got my underoos all in a bunch for the first time back at E3, and with good reason: for one thing, it’s the first game from id Software – the godfathers of the first person shooter – in around seven years. That’s a long time. Plus, it looks freaking sweet….

Ubisoft has been pretty fantastic so far with releasing new content for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and for free to boot. Sure, it’s been exclusively with the multiplayer portion of the game, but multiplayer in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is outstanding, so this is ok. Double Fine is making a Kinect Sesame Street game. That’s pretty much all you need to say to confirm the weirdest mash-up of development houses and cultural IPs. But it’s true! Double Fine, best known for games like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and recent downloadable titles like Stacking and Costume Quest, is now stepping into the casual market with the family friendly Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster.…

It’s another sad day for anoter game development studio, and yet again, it’s Activision behind it all. Today, after announcing they would put the Liverpool-based development studio, behind such games as Blur, Geometry Wars, and the venerated Project Gotham Racing series, on sale in November of last year, Activision announced that the studio would be closing.…

In an unsurprising (and timely) announcement, niche publisher Aksys Games has announced that EXAMU’s Japanese arcade fighter, Arcana Heart 3, will be making its way to North American shores later this year. This announcement was rumored for some time, following the European localization announcement by pQube. Hit the jump for the scoop on this new fighting game….
